Curated Objects #2

Another quick update to whet your appetite. I happened across this vintage rhinestone necklace at a local antique shop a couple months ago and couldn't help but notice that it looked a bit like a skull! Thankfully, it was relatively inexpensive, and it now resides in my jewelry box (and occasionally around my neck!).

Until next time,
Madame Curatrix

  1. Love your blog...
    You are a great writer.
Your first post really had me pondering the Victorians.
I always thought I hated the Victorian Age but in fact I feel like I might be a neo Victorian after your description of them!!!!
Please post more, I love the idea of this blog!!!!

    1. Dear Terri,
Thank you so much for your kind comments! They give me motivation to work on more content to post.

I would like to tell you that I found out about your beautiful blog through your post of photographs from the book 'Shell Shock' by Patrick Mauries, featuring artistic seashell creations. I have that book, as well as his book on Cabinets of Curiosities on order. I am looking forward to receiving and enjoying them.

I am an East Coast native but do visit relatives in the Bay Area every Summer, and make a particular point of scheduling my visits so that I can shop the Alameda Antique Fair. I hope to be at the July fair this summer. It's always so difficult to go and have to pass on gorgeous items because of traveling/shipping concerns, alas!

      Perhaps I'll see you there!

      Thanks again.
